Warm up

The friday nights at the noodle house are my favorite. The fresh scent of rice and chicken when you enter the door. Everyone around you is always happy and having a good time. Smiles on peoples face and the joy in their eyes as their food reaches their table always makes my heart race. Then here it comes, you see you order on its way to reach you. One step closer and it is here, ready for you. When the dish is set in front of me the stem of the hot rice and juicy sauces reach my nose. Then as the first bite takes it's toll I know there is so much more where that came from. The rice and chicken then vanishes of my plate and warm relaxing feeling sinks in my belly. So content I am finally ready to leave with a smile on my face and I can't wait to come back for more.

 When being a reporter you have to have tough skin and you will always be pushed to be better. If you can't reach the people you need to contact in your article say that they were unreachable or something. Don't say that they wouldn't return your calls they could take it in the wrong way. Some leads can go straight to the point, challenge the reader, or very detailed.

I am almost done with my current piece. I need help laying out my piece and sorting what should be in each paragraph. I think I have sorted it well but I just need your opinion. I think the best part of my piece would have to be the introduction because I feel the lead is strong and the whole paragraph flows well.

They both are quotes for a leads. They also go straight to the point.

The first ones problem is that it isn't worded right and could be written differently.

The second one should not have that they say has changed everything. Its just an extra to the lead that makes it look to long. It would sound a lot better.

The third one just goes straight to the point but I don't really understand their point that much. I don't get if the article is going to talk about the teachers or the children.

•   Every push and shove and long line wait was worth it to get their hands on the new and improved IPhone 4 from Verizon that they say has changed everything.

I choose this for my lead because I though it sounded good with my piece. It explains what I'm talking about and at the same time adds a creative twist to the lead.

What would other solutions be? If you were the obese child's parent what would you insist to help them out.

Keegan L. - " I think that's its unfair to blame the parents for something the kids did to themselves. At the same time I think that the kids should be helped out before it becomes worse.

Mariah Oelke- " I think that the parents deserve to be punished for letting the kids become obese and not helping them out or putting them on a diet. Its very irresponsible to let the child become obese because it could really effect his life. "

I don't think that that it would be fair to take the child away from the parents. The child could be getting fat on his or her own. It could be the parents fault that they never teaching the kids the effects of a junk food life style, but I don't think they should be taken away from their kids for it. I don't think they should be taken away but maybe get taught what the effects are and how to start to reduce his or her obesity. Kids taken away from parents who are acholic or druggies is whole different story because the kids are in harm by the parents, but obese child are just harming themselves and the kids should be taught what to eat and not. The child would be punished more then the parents if they are going to be taken away from their own home. Also, chilidren could become fat over genetics. Then still if the parents are doing nothing to help their child they should be punished. So to me this is a yes and no subject.

For missing the workshop I think that I could write an essay on why I missed it, or write an essay to you on journalism and how to become a better journalist. Or any kind of essay of some sort. Even maybe help you out in the library.

What do you think should be the polices of the new lab?

 I think now for sure food should not be allowed or and drinks because I don't think we should risk ruining these new computers. Also if we ate food we could get all of our sticky fingers on them. We shouldn't be using the Skype or photo booth application unless they are needed. Besides that I feel that everything should go the same way that they used to. New seats.

1.) I think in this class I have shown a good performace and I think that I have turned in everything on time and have always lisened to the teacher. I do try hard to get my articles uploaded on time but sometimes they arn't good enough to sumiit. I think that I could work a little bit harder to make sure that it will be published on time. I think I deserve a A in this class beacuse I think I show good effort and try hard to make sure everything is done on time.

2.)  Principle is something that is the main point or the main subject or a rule. For example, the principle roles are Dorthy and the Whitch. Principal is the superattendent of a school.

1.)    Our publication process is working well because I think that everyone is talking to each other and helping them out. By doing so everyone is getting there work done and not getting stuck on one part of their pieces. I also think that everyone is sticking to their goals and completing their pieces on time.

2.)     I think that we should improve on not being lazy and just not leave all the editing up to the editors. Instead the writer of the piece should look through for simple mistakes and not leave the editor to clean up your mess.

3.)  A great addition to our site would be advertisement. I think that would make our site a lot more impressive and professional. Someone could walk to into local bussinesses and ask if they would like to advertise or get the word out.

4.) I like how I contribute my writings. I enjoy that people are reading them and enjoying reading all the different kinds of pieces. I would like to contribute maybe some opinion pieces.

5.)  I have learned how to write better, about different types of leads, and opinion pieces. I also learned how to work as a whole and have others that will be there to help. My expantations for second semester would be getting more advertisement, everyone reaching our goals, and receiving more viewers.

If there are a lot of mistakes in an article that was posted on line that would tell the readers that we aren't that serious and professional about our work. I think it would also look bad for the person who wrote the article. I think it would be a bit embarrassing. We want to look as professional as we can and if we have a article that has a lot of mistakes in it that would take the complete purpose away.

    I'm not exactly sure but if I had to make a guess I think that which movie would be the correct use in writing the poll question. I think that this is the write use because which because their is only limited movie choices.

I think that an Ipad would be useful maybe to download the pictures on and edit them. Also, there could be a Journalism app that could help us with our writing.  It would be easy to handle if we wanted to take it outside of the lab room or something like that. Besides that I personally think that the Ipad is more of a toy kind of thing, but I think there are ways to make it useful for Journalism.
